Audiology

We provide a range of audiological services, including:

  • Community audiology clinics (tier 2) - routine hearing assessment and monitoring in children under 18, who are registered with a GP in the local area.
  • Hospital-based audiology clinics (tier 3) - specialist hearing assessment and management for children, including those with complex needs or who may require provision of hearing aids. We can also provide hearing assessments for adults with additional needs, in cases where a standard adult pathway is not suitable.
  • Vestibular assessment and rehabilitation - assessment and management of balance problems in adults over 16.
  • Specialist diagnostic audiology - specialist hearing assessment for adults, arranged following a referral from a medical professional. This often involves speech testing and is commonly requested for patients with diagnosed or suspected acoustic neuroma.
  • Hearing therapy - counselling and practical assistance for patients over 16 who experience issues with hearing loss, tinnitus and hyperacusis.

For vestibular, diagnostic audiology and hearing therapy clinics, we do see some children under 16, however referrals are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Please note we do not carry out routine hearing assessments for adults or supply adult hearing aids. If you are looking for an adult hearing aid assessment, please speak to your GP to find your local provider.
