This is not a walk-in service, you must call us first.

You can contact the service on our 24 hour number if you think you need urgent advice or assessment. This phone is held by an experienced emergency nurse practitioner.

When contacting us please have the following information ready:

• your Southampton hospital number (this is a seven digit number)
• your contact telephone number
• your date of birth
• your consultant's name
• your cancer diagnosis.

Please be aware that we are unable to speed up the booking or reporting of routine investigations. If your enquiry is non-urgent, consider contacting your clinical nurse specialist for advice and support.

Where are we?

We are located next to the main emergency department at Southampton General Hospital on C level, East Wing. It is between the cancer care wards C3 and C4.

Directions from the main entrance

• After the row of shops turn left
• Follow signs to the emergency department past the lift lobby
• Turn right at the "no through route" doors to the emergency department
• Continue down this corridor until you see a set of locked doors
• Press the intercom for C3 on the keypad and ask for the acute oncology service
