We are also well supported by the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre, within the hospital.

This is a safe and welcoming environment for people affected by cancer. It gives people with cancer, as well as their families, friends and carers, access to support, information and practical help. It is also an opportunity simply to talk.

Macmillan Cancer Support

The Maggie's Centre here at UHS provides extra support services for cancer care patients and their families. Patients, family, and friends can drop in to see the trained staff and volunteers who work at the centre.

Maggie’s offers expert advice and guidance from a cancer support specialist and clinical psychologist, provides access to a benefits advisor, and runs support groups, gentle exercise classes, art and relaxation sessions.
