Education, training and resources

Emergency medication administration and epilepsy awareness training

Our specialist epilepsy team run training days twice a year. For information on dates, costs and how to book, please e-mail epilepsysupport@uhs.nhs.uk

The course is delivered by experienced epilepsy nurse specialists, and is designed to meet the Epilepsy Nurse Association (ESNA) best practice guidelines (2019). ESNA is a professional organisation whose membership consists of nurses and other health professionals working to support people with epilepsy in the fields of adults, learning disabilities and paediatrics.

Information for carers and care managers

You can access training packages and information from the national organisations listed at the bottom of this page. Some patients, however, will require emergency medication and your staff will need additional training to be able to administer this.
