Nuclear medicine physics
In the nuclear medicine physics team, we play a crucial role in bridging the realms of physics and medicine. Our mission is to ensure the safe and effective use of radioactive materials and imaging techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
We provide support to a range of areas within nuclear medicine, including radiopharmaceutical dosimetry, image acquisition and processing, quality control, and radiation safety. We are dedicated to keeping up with the latest technological advancements, continuously working to implement state-of-the-art solutions that enhance the accuracy and precision of nuclear medicine procedures.
We’re extensively involved in molecular radiotherapy, covering all aspects of therapy from planning, dosimetry, and delivery to post-treatment advice.
Our research and development work mainly focuses on activity that can be translated into improving medical and health outcomes.
We support core service at UHS nuclear medicine and the Alliance PET/CT Centre, and also provide medical physics expertise to departments at other sites across the south coast, Isle of Wight, and Channel Islands.
