Quality and patient safety partners (QPSP)

Patients and carers are an essential element of all our work at UHS and as a Trust we strive to live our value ‘patients first’, offering outstanding patient outcomes, safety and experience.

Our 2021 Always Improving strategy set out our plan for patients to lead on improvement across the Trust and to help us see our improvement needs. They are able to provide a unique insight, ensuring that the patients’ voice is heard and is always at the centre of everything decision we make.

Quality and safety partners (QPSP) are people from the local community who bring the voice of the patient to the discussion.

As a partner, you will play a vital part in supporting all our quality and patient safety initiatives, offering your unique insight to make sure that the patient is at the centre of every decision we make.

Each partner is allocated a UHS buddy who’s a subject matter expert for each of the projects they're assigned to give them the expert advice needed to make safe choices. They will also have a mentor to meet with on a regular basis to offer more general support and guidance.

We currently have a group of partners working on a selection of projects but we're eager to further diversify our cohort. We look forward to their involvement on new projects as well as the various specialist patient participation groups that currently exist.

What we’re really looking for is passion and enthusiasm to make health care much safer for everyone. If that sounds like you, please fill in our short form linked on the right to register your interest.
