Family support

It's important to include siblings of children on the ward as they can often feel left out. As well as being encouraged to visit, our play team can spend time talking to a sibling about what is happening to their brother or sister, and there is a sibling group that they can join.

Our clinical nurse speciliast team are also the palliative care team for the ward. We work with local community teams to plan individual care for each child and family at the end of their life. Together with social work teams, we offer bereavement care for families after the death of a child.
