Wards D5 and D6
Our respiratory wards are D5 and D6. D5 has 28 beds for female patients, with 34 beds for male patients on D6. These wards are linked with the respiratory high dependency unit and the respiratory centre.
We look after patients with a wide range of respiratory diseases such as COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis and lung cancer. Our nurses are trained to care for tracheostomies, non-invasive ventilation and chest drains.
Visiting
Visiting hours are 10am until 1pm, and 3pm until 8pm. If you'd like to visit outside of these times, please speak to the nurse in charge of the ward.
Please don’t bring flowers or plants on to the ward as they can make some people’s lung problems much worse. These wards are also not suitable for babies and young children to be brought to visit.
If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to the nurse in charge.

Feedback
We're always pleased to receive your feedback, as it helps us to learn and identify the areas where we can improve. Of course, positive feedback on the care we provide is always welcome too.
