Research
Southampton's Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre leads the UK and Europe in fighting cancer using the body’s own defences. Our patients benefit from continuous discoveries and improvements flowing from the laboratory to the clinic.
We run clinical trials for new treatments for lymphoma and leukaemia, as well as exploring new ways to support people after treatment.
For information about our current trials, please contact Jac Samuel, research nursing team lead, on j.a.samuel@soton.ac.uk or call 023 8120 5112.
The Southern Cancer Trials Public Involvement Group
We are looking for public contributors to join our involvement group and make sure clinical trials work for patients.
If you're a cancer patient, carer, family member or simply someone interested in cancer research we would love to hear from you!
No experience of clinical trials or public involvement is necessary, and you will be reimbursed for your time and expenses.
The aim is to have a cancer-specific PPI group who can bring a public voice to cancer trials, funding applications, and the general work of the Southampton's cancer research community, Southampton Clinical Trials Unit and Southampton ECMC.
Macmillan survivorship research group
Based at the University of Southampton, this research group focuses on understanding the recovery of health and well-being following cancer treatment, and supporting the self-management of cancer related problems.
