Appointment information

Outpatient and walk-in appointments

Adults

If you have an appointment please check in at the pathology patient reception, which is next to the blood test area on C level, Centre Block. Please follow the signs for blood tests and pathology outpatients from the main entrance.

Children

Parents of children with appointments should check in at children’s outpatients, adjacent to the centre.

Walk-in appointments

Walk-in appointments are available Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm. Services include

  • emergency treatment
  • medical reviews
  • training and teaching for home treatment
  • advice and guidance for travel, benefits and family support.

Please contact the haemophilia nurse specialist on 023 8120 4047. When an appointment is arranged please check-in at the appropriate desk.

Changing your appointment

If you need to change your next clinic appointment please call 023 8120 8454 (adults) or 023 8120 4118 (children).

Out of hours appointments

If you need to be seen in hospital please call 023 8077 7222 and ask to speak to the haematology registrar on-call, who will give you further instructions on where to report to.

Children are seen on the paediatric assessment ward, G level, East Wing, telephone number 023 8120 4628.

Your bleeding disorder card must be presented to a member of staff when you arrive at an out of hours appointment. If you need a new card please see our bleeding disorder cards information page.

In case of emergency

In the event of a serious injury and admission to the emergency department via ambulance, please show your bleeding disorder card to the ambulance staff and ensure that the medical team immediately alert the haematology team.
