7pm to 8pm, Tuesday 3 December 2024

Microsoft Teams

Our population is ageing. By 2040, nearly one in seven people in the UK will be over the age of 75.

As we get older, there are some conditions and illnesses that we are more likely to develop. The immune system also become slower to respond.

Southampton researchers are leading new approaches to help people live healthier for longer. Join our virtual event to discover the latest research into preventing weakening of bones and muscles.

Speakers will also cover social isolation and the importance of good nutrition.

The event will be chaired by Prof Nicholas Harvey, professor of rheumatology and clinical epidemiology at the University of Southampton and director of the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre.
