Annual members' meeting 2022

Our annual members’ meeting took place virtually on Tuesday 1 November.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both public and staff members to hear highlights from the annual report and accounts 2021/22.

During the session we also updated on the progress in implementing the Trust’s strategic plan, which sets out ambitions for UHS to be a world-class organisation by 2025, as well as provide an update on membership activities over the last year.

The meeting was chaired by Jenni Douglas-Todd, chair of the Trust Board, with contributions from David French, chief executive; Gail Byrne, chief nursing officer; Steve Harris, chief people officer; Phil Bunting, director of operational finance; Serena Gaukroger-Woods; head of clinical quality assurance and Helen Eggleton, deputy lead governor.

We were pleased to see so many contributions from those in the audience, with questions focusing on issues such as discharging patients medically fit to leave hospital, planning for this coming winter, and recruitment and retention of staff.
