Nursing staff
Sara Main - lead nurse BMT
Provides the lead role for BMT nursing service development and nurse led transplant late effects follow up service, has overall responsibility for the nursing staff providing care for patients within the WBMT service and is the lead role for developing and providing nursing education and training in transplantation.
Joan Newman, Jane Lamb, Amy Creighton - BMT clinical nurse specialists / Nikki McKeag - BMT Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Have responsibility for transplant patient nurse-led follow up, including DLI administration and shared care communication with referring centres providing expert support to patients and their families.
Helen Snow - allogeneic stem cell transplant co-coordinator
Has responsibility for co-ordinating the management of patients pre allogeneic stem cell transplant and to facilitate a continuous support service across hospital and community settings for patients.
Amanda Blackwell - autologous stem cell transplant co-coordinator
Has responsibility for co-ordinating the management of patients pre- and post-autologous stem cell transplant and to facilitate a continuous support service across hospital and community settings for patients.
David Hutchins - apheresis lead nurse
Manages the collection facility (apheresis unit) and is responsible for ensuring that all staff performing apheresis procedures are appropriately trained and competent to perform these procedures.
Glessie Cervantes - ward manager C6
Has responsibility for managing and supervising the nursing staff and care of patients undergoing high dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplants on the in-patient transplant unit.
Administrative and clerical
Sarah Holtby - quality programme manager
Has responsibility for co-ordinating the development and maintenance of the WBMT quality management programme to ensure all areas involved meet local needs and external inspection body requirements (FACT-JACIE, HTA).
Lyn Jarvis - data manager
Edward Chick - assistant data manager
Have responsibility for the Med AB data collection and reporting to the EBMT data registry and provide data analysis support for audit and research projects as well as local information requirements.
Sam Sizer - office manager
Provides administrative support to the BMT team and many aspects of the quality management programme.
Ruth Henworth- autologous transplant care co-ordinator
Sunita Verma- allogeneic transplant care co-ordinator
Assists the specialist nurse co-ordinators, in particular undergoing autologous/allogeneic transplantation, booking tests, paperwork and patient letters. Provides patients with some logistical information in relation to tests and the process of harvesting stem cells. All clinical information is provided by the specialist nurses and they are the first point of call for clinical enquiries and patient co-ordination.
