Medical physics business group
The admin team has four members with various contracted hours, overall totalling 3.12 WTE. We cover all the groups within medical physics. Our workload varies from general admin tasks such as filing, sending out reports, answering the phones, diary management and minute taking, to organising the departments courses including taking bookings, sending out instructions and invoicing. We also assist with the administration of the dose badge management.
The team is led by the PA, we ensure that there is cross cover between us all to ensure that tasks like HealthRoster and ordering are kept on track. We each have our own workload; our full time member of staff covers radiotherapy physics ensuring that patient treatment plans are progressing via MOSAIQ.

Our team
Sharon Archer
Sharon has worked at UHS for more than 20 years, joining as the secretary for the deep vein thrombosis clinic arranging patient appointments. She moved on after a year to become PA to the director of medical physics, and has continued in this role since for various managers: the director of medical physics, clinical support care group manager, clinical support’s director of nursing to now the heads of groups within medical physics.

Hazel Forder
Hazel has been in the Trust for over 20 years, starting out as the secretary for the deep vein thrombosis clinic. This clinic has since moved into the care of the radiology department. Hazel takes the lead for the department on HealthRoster, and for ordering and invoicing. She also assists radiotherapy physics for two hours each morning to ensure that patient plans are ready.

Levina Afonso
Levina came to work at the Trust in 2021 as cover for maternity leave, before taking on a permanent position working full time in radiotherapy physics. This involves monitoring and chasing the treatment pathways for radiotherapy patients to achieve the scheduled turnaround, assisting the department lead for HealthRoster, and placing orders and several admin tasks. Levina previously spent 20 years in a ship repair company in Goa (India) having worked as a software programmer, before evolving into roles such as database administrator and quality systems auditor for ISO 9001 certification.

Jo Sullivan
Jo joined the Trust in 2022 as an administrator in medical physics, having previously spent 20 years in schools' administration and software development, and 20 years in banking software training and development and management consultancy.
