Porton FW&E Laboratory is a diagnostic microbiology laboratory for the examination of food, water and environmental samples. The laboratory is accredited by UKAS to ISO 17025.

We are a Public Health England laboratory and provide a service for Hospital Trusts, Environmental Health Departments and commercial customers in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Sussex, Surrey and Dorset (including transport of samples from key points within these counties).

We provide a wide range of UKAS-accredited microbiology tests for food, water and environmental samples, and can also arrange chemistry tests for water samples. For a full range of tests, please contact us at the e-mail address provided.

We have considerable experience in testing and interpreting results for:

Endoscopy rinse waters
Renal dialysis waters
Air sampling in clean rooms and theatres
Hydrotherapy pools
Investigations of environmental contamination
Bioburden tests

Our team of highly qualified staff is available to provide advice and interpretation of results. We can also arrange visits to premises to take samples if required (sampling is covered by our scope of accreditation).
