Patient and family support hub

Our patient and family support hub offers assistance to patients, their families and carers at University Hospital Southampton. Our volunteers can provide practical support to you during your visit to hospital and can also refer you to other community-based voluntary service providers who can help you depending on your individual needs. We can support with:

• Support at hospital outpatient appointments via our pre-booked companion service, including support with finding your way around the hospital
• A quiet space for patients, carers and families to sit and have a drink and a friendly chat with our volunteers
• A beautiful garden, accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Sunflower lanyard scheme for patients and carers with physical or hidden disabilities
• Carers support service
• Collection and delivery of items such as prescriptions, mobility equipment and food parcels
• Citizens advice service for financial advice and support
• Signposting to community and other voluntary support services

The patient and family support hub is open from 9.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and can be contacted by freephone on 0800 484 0135, or by emailing PFSH@uhs.nhs.uk. Our centre is located in the main hospital on B Level, near the eye unit entrance.
