Our aims

The UHS Armed Forces Network has three aims:

To make UHS the employer of choice for the Armed Forces community.
To support veteran patients admitted to our hospital.
To unite staff from the Armed Forces community at UHS.

Who we are

UHS has made a commitment to create a truly inclusive workplace where everyone can belong. As part of the Trust’s strategy, networks that thrive and support the creation of an inclusive and safe place to work have been established. The Armed Forces Network is part of this initiative and welcomes staff who are members or supporters of the armed forces community. The Armed Forces Network meets regularly and provides:

A safe space for discussion
Social activities
A place to raise awareness of lived experiences
A source of support for individuals
A collective voice to influence Trust-wide decision making
An opportunity to engage in Trust-wide projects and initiatives that support the armed forces community - both staff and patients.
