Training and education

Prof Crabb read medicine at St George's Hospital medical school, London. After junior doctor posts at various London teaching hospitals he trained in the care of patients with cancer in Southampton. He undertook his doctoral research as a Cancer Research UK clinical research fellow at the University of Southampton and completed a clinical research fellowship at the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver before returning to Southampton.

Experience

Prof Crabb has worked for the Trust since 2009 as an honorary consultant in medical oncology. He specialises in the care of patients with cancers of the genitourinary tract including bladder, prostate and adrenal cancers. He also plays a lead role in the delivery of early phase cancer clinical trials at Southampton.

Chief or national lead investigator for multiple clinical trials for prostate and bladder cancer including the ProCAID, SPIRE, BL-13 and GUSTO trials

Member of the Cancer Research UK experimental medicine expert review panel
Chair of the Genomics England Clinical Interpretation Partnership for bladder cancer for the 100,000 Genomes Project
Lead for phase I cancer clinical trials at University Hospital Southampton
