Training and education
Mr Mba’s postgraduate training was in North West London, rotating through various hospitals such as Chelsea & Westminster, Hillingdon and St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College.
He is a member of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and the British Society of the Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP). He was a member of the national Certification and Training Committee of the BSCCP from 2013-2015
Experience
Mr Mba is a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology who joined the Trust in November 2015. He is the Lead for Undergraduate Education. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority and has significant qualifications and experience in undergraduate & postgraduate medical education.
His other interest is benign gynaecological surgery (open, laparoscopic & hysteroscopic) and he runs an ambulatory gynaecology clinic that streamlines the investigation and management of women with abnormal menstrual and postmenopausal bleeding. He is a certified colposcopist and has a regular colposcopy clinic for women with an abnormal cervical smear.
He also looks after high-risk pregnant women and runs an antenatal clinic at the Hythe area.
Key achievements
His educational research project on medical leadership among postgraduate trainees in north west London region highlighted an important training issue and was vital in integrating various initiatives and leadership development programmes into the curriculum.
Research
Mr Mba has research interests in medical education and benign gynaecology, for which he has made various presentations (national and international) and publications.
