Mr Nijaguna Mathad

Mr Mathad is a neurosurgeon with sub-specialty interests in skull base surgery, paediatric neurosurgery, pituitary surgery, and endoscopic neurosurgery.

After doing his initial training and gaining extensive neurosurgery experience in India, Mr Mathad completed additional training and accreditation in the UK. 

Experience

Mr Mathad has worked for University Hospital Southampton since August 2003. He has extensive sub-specialty experience in his current role and 22 years' experience in various aspects of neurosurgery.

Mr Mathad has special interests in neuroendoscopy and skull base and pituitary surgery. He's introduced endoscopic pituitary surgery and is a lead pituitary surgeon. He's also developed endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery at UHS.
