Experience
Dr Lavrsen came to the Trust from Oregon Health and Science University Hospital, USA, where he served as a paediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgeon for two years.
Prior to this, he worked as faculty assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, University of California, and Stanford University Medical Centre. Here he performed heart and lung transplants, ventricular assist devices implantation and complex congenital cardiac surgery.
Dr Lavrsen has a particular interest in children's congenital heart surgery.
Research
Dr Lavrsen's research interests include valve replacement and cardiopulmonary bypass strategies in patients with congenital heart disease.
