Mr Kyriakos Giannoulis

Mr Giannoulis is a consultant spinal surgeon with a special interest in degenerative spinal conditions in adults.

Training and education

Mr Giannoulis graduated from the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1998. He completed his training and PhD thesis in orthopaedics in 2009. He then undertook (post CCT) dual complex spine fellowship training at the prestigious centre for spine studies and surgery at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, UK (an internationally renowned spinal unit) and the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. Both hospitals represent prestigious tertiary spinal training centres dealing with the full range of spinal pathology.

Experience

Mr Giannoulis is a consultant spinal surgeon. He has a special interest in degenerative spinal conditions in adults, including back pain and deformity. He currently runs weekly outpatient clinics at the Royal South Hants Hospital.

Mr Giannoulis sees patients with conditions affecting all areas of the spine, from the base of the skull to the sacrum (the bone at the bottom of the spine). You might be referred to him for surgical treatment of:

  • neck pain
  • a spinal infection
  • a spinal tumour
  • back pain
  • sciatica
  • spinal trauma and deformity.

He performs minimally invasive spinal surgeries like microdiscectomy, kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty. He's a member of the British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS) and AOSpine association.
