Experience
Mr Mazari joined UHS as consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon in April 2018.
Previously, he completed the Yorkshire and Humber higher surgical training programme, rotating through large oncoplastic breast surgery centres including Sheffield, Leeds and Doncaster. He won a national fellowship in oncoplastic breast surgery in 2016 and was appointed to the Nottingham Breast Institute where he successfully completed his training in advanced breast conservation and reconstruction techniques.
Mr Mazari provides a full range of oncoplastic breast services including breast conservation surgery, partial breast reconstruction, total breast reconstruction after mastectomy, revision and symmetrisation surgery. His clinics include screening and symptomatic breast clinics, combined breast cancer clinics and joint breast-plastic surgery clinics.
Mr Mazari specialises in advanced breast conservation techniques including partial breast reconstruction using local perforator flaps and therapeutic mammoplasty (breast reduction and uplift type operation). He has introduced and established the partial breast reconstruction service at UHS. He also provides a full range of complete breast reconstruction services including implant-based and autologous tissue-based breast reconstruction (reconstruction using the patient's own tissue).

Research
Mr Mazari has authored over 50 papers in peer reviewed international journals on breast cancer, breast radiology, plastic, vascular and general surgery. He is actively involved in national research collaboratives and is a member of clinical trial steering committees and the Cochrane review panel, working on a variety of research streams in general surgery, breast oncology and oncoplastic breast surgery.
