Mr Miligkos is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist who specialises in minimal access surgery.

Experience
Mr Miligkos joined UHS in August 2012 as a fellow in advanced laparoscopic (minimal access) surgery. He completed his training in 2014 and is currently a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology.
He is the lead for outpatient treatment hysteroscopy (a procedure used to look inside the uterus) at the Princess Anne Hospital.
In addition to general gynaecology his special interests are:
- endometriosis (a condition that causes cells like the ones inside the womb to grow in other places, like the ovaries or fallopian tubes)
- pelvic pain
- menstrual (period) disorders
- colposcopy (a procedure used to look at the cervix)
- gynaecological ultrasound scans.
He is specialised in minimal access surgery. He performs laparoscopic hysterectomy (removal of the womb), myomectomy (removal of fibroids from the uterus), surgery to treat endometriosis, and operative hysteroscopy and colposcopy.

Research
- Local principal investigator for the HEALTH trial – randomised trial of laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomy vs endometrial ablation for heavy menstrual bleeding. The trial has now been completed and the results are awaited.
- PhD in medicine: The role of IGF in the pathophysiology of endometriosis
