Mr Chakraborty completed his neurosurgical training in London.

Fellowships

  • Two post-CCT (certificate of completion of training) fellowships in paediatric neurosurgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada

Experience

Mr Chakraborty joined the neurosurgical department at UHS in January 2013. Prior to this, he worked as a locum consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital for two and a half years. He is the clinical lead for the South of England Paediatric Neurosciences Network.

He has expertise in all aspects of paediatric neurosurgery but leads in paediatric neuro-oncology. In addition, he has interests in complex hydrocephalus, Chiari 1 malformations and adult epilepsy surgery.

Research

Mr Chakraborty is very active in research, having completed a PhD at the University of London, and has supervised two PhD students. He has published widely in peer reviewed journals, presented at numerous international meetings and has authored two book chapters.
