Dr Tandon is a locum consultant in paediatric haematology.

She looks after children with conditions such as:

  • leukaemia
  • lymphoma
  • Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) and other histiocytic disorders
  • haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH)
  • thalassaemia 
  • sickle cell disease
  • inherited bone marrow failure syndromes.

She also sees patients with other benign blood conditions including haemoglobinopathy and inherited bone marrow failure syndromes.

Dr Tandon is involved in the care of both inpatients and outpatients.

  • Member of UHS newborn screening programme
  • Lead for paediatric haemoglobinopathy service

  • Travelling fellowship award - 9th St Jude Viva forum
  • Best poster prize at SIOP 2011
  • Best oral paper titled ’Clinico-epidemiological profile and challenges in the management of retinoblastoma in low and middle income countries (SIOP, 2015)
  • Best oral paper titled ’An open labelled randomized controlled trial of ready to use therapeutic food (RUTF) or the prevention of malignancy related weight loss in children with cancer (International Clinical Trials Conference, Berlin, 2018)

Dr Tandon's research interests include:

  • Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) and histiocytosis
  • acute lymphoblastic leukaemia
  • acute myeloid leukaemia
  • tumour biology
  • CAR T-cell therapy (an immunotherapy treatment) and other cellular therapies.
