Major trauma, pre-hospital emergency medicine and regional anaesthesia
Dr Simon Hughes is a consultant anaesthetist with an interest in major trauma and pre-hospital emergency medicine.
Dr Hughes trained in both anaesthesia and intensive care medicine in Oxford and Sydney and with the Royal Air Force. He was a wing commander with the RAF, served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and developed an interest in anaesthesia for major trauma. He has also been involved in pre-hospital care on the air ambulance in Sydney, Oxford, Afghanistan and now with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance.
Twice awarded the Association of Anaesthetists Pask Certificate of Honour, 2010 and 2012.
