Dr Nicholas Hayes

Dr Hayes is a consultant paediatric (children's) cardiologist who specialises in cardiac catheter intervention (a procedure used to diagnose and treat heart conditions).

Experience

Dr Hayes has been a consultant paediatric and interventional congenital cardiologist at UHS since June 2013. He undertook paediatric cardiology training in London at Evelina Children’s, Royal Brompton and Great Ormond Street hospitals. Following this, he gained an additional two years of dedicated sub-specialty experience in paediatric and adult congenital intervention at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Dr Hayes is experienced in the diagnosis, assessment and management of congenital heart disease (a heart condition that the patient is born with). He has particular expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic catheter intervention. He is also the training programme director for paediatric cardiology in the Wessex region and quality lead for the National Paediatric Cardiology Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) at the Royal College of Physicians.
