Dr Mark Allenby

Dr Allenby is a consultant respiratory physician who joined the Trust in 2017.

Training and education

  • FRCP (fellow of the Royal College of Physicians)

Dr Allenby trained in the south west region. His research interests were in how the immune system responds to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 

Experience

Dr Allenby is a consultant respiratory physician who joined the Trust in 2017. He has ten years' experience as a consultant in respiratory medicine, and is particularly experienced in caring for adults with cystic fibrosis.

Here at UHS, Dr Allenby sees adults with cystic fibrosis as inpatients and outpatients. He will also be contributing to the local service for patients with bronchiectasis, a condition where the airways of the lungs become abnormally wide, increasing the risk of infection.

Research

Dr Allenby is particularly interested in cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis.
