Experience

Dr Nolan is a consultant medical oncologist specialising in the treatment of thoracic and gastrointestinal cancers and neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). His time is divided between Southampton and the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. He is the lead for oncology in Winchester and the lead for chemotherapy in Southampton.

Dr Nolan's main focus in Southampton is thoracic malignancies and neuroendocrine tumours. He has a special interest in targeted therapies and immunotherapy for lung cancer. This is an area of lung cancer treatment which is rapidly evolving and, together with the other members of the thoracic oncology team, Dr Nolan is involved in a number of clinical trials in this area.

Research

As a consultant medical oncologist, Dr Nolan is an active clinical trialist. He is the principal investigator on clinical trials in mesothelioma, lung cancer and gastrointestinal cancers and has presented research at a range of national and international meetings.
