Experience

Dr Fairhurst has worked for the Trust since 1990.

She trained as a general radiologist in the UK, before completing a fellowship in paediatric radiology in the USA. Dr Fairhurst joined the Trust as the only paediatric radiologist. Since then, the department has grown to six paediatric radiologists, undertaking all aspects of imaging in children.

Dr Fairhurst sub-specialises in paediatric musculoskeletal radiology, particularly in the areas of skeletal dysplasia and non-accidental injury. She also has an interest in education, and lectures nationally and internationally on paediatric radiology.
