Dr Jane Hazelgrove

Dr Hazelgrove is a consultant in pain medicine with a sub-specialty interest in medical education.

Experience

Dr Hazelgrove has worked for the Trust since 2000. She is a consultant in pain medicine and works across the UHS neuromodulation team and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. 

Dr Hazelgrove has an interest in all forms of chronic pain, including spinal pain, neuropathic pain, and interventional procedures. She also specialises in healthcare education and is an associate Dean at Health Education England (Wessex). She has a masters degree in pain medicine, and is an honorary lecturer at the University of Southampton.

Awards and prizes

The Southampton pain service has been recognised nationally through several awards bodies.

Research

Dr Hazelgrove has been involved in research in the fields of anaesthetics (obstetrics and intensive care unit), day surgery, chronic pain (interventional pain), and the Wessex epidural steroid trial (HTA report). She has also been an investigator for several commercially funded studies.
