Dr David Allen

Dr Allen is a neurophysiologist with a sub-specialty interest in neuromuscular diseases, epilepsy and epilepsy surgery.

Training and education

Dr Allen undertook specialist training in clinical neurophysiology at King’s College Hospital, London, The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London and at the Wessex Neurological Centre, Southampton.

Experience

As a neurophysiology physician, Dr Allen's work is largely diagnostic. He sees patients and performs and interprets investigations that record activity from the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. These include nerve conduction studies, electromyography (EMG), evoked potentials (EP) and electroencephalography (EEG). These investigations are used to aid diagnosis in various conditions affecting these parts of the nervous system.
