Dr Christopher Hill

Experience

Dr Hill joined the Trust in August 2013 as a consultant in emergency medicine. In 2014 he also began working as a consultant in pre-hospital emergency medicine, working for our partner organisation the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

He is responsible for the management of patients coming to the emergency department where he sees patients both directly and via the supervision of resident doctors and practitioners. Dr Hill works across all areas of the ED including the management of children. He is especially interested in the management of major trauma.

In the pre-hospital field, Dr Hill works on the air ambulance assessing and treating patients who are severely ill or injured wherever they may be across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Since his appointment, Dr Hill has been the clinical lead for the emergency department and continues to provide senior leadership along with providing teaching, training, governance and quality improvement.

Dr Hill is currently the deputy director for major trauma for the Trust, working with the major trauma centre to help improve the care for severely injured patients.
