Dr Chinar Osman

Dr Osman is a consultant Neurologist with a sub-speciality interest in peripheral nerve disorders, she has worked for the trust since 2013. Dr Osman is also a visiting consultant at the Salisbury District General Hospital.

Training and education

Dr Osman graduated at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2008 where she was awarded a scholarship for high academic ranking. She also attained first-class honours in Neuroscience Intercalated BSc (with a Principal’s prize).

Dr Osman underwent her junior doctor training in Leicestershire and London deanery. She completed her specialist registrar training in neurology at Wessex Neurological Centre, Southampton General Hospital.

Experience

Dr Osman has completed a post-CCT fellowship in neuromuscular disorders at the University of Southampton. She established the UK’s first Neurology led-outpatient Plasma Exchange Service and is now the clinical lead for this service. Furthermore, Dr Osman is the lead for the Neurology Immunoglobulin service in the South-East region.

Dr Osman is actively involved in education; she is a lecturer at Southampton University. She is involved in regional neurology registrar training and the national recruitment. Dr Osman is also a member of the Neurology SCE question writing committee.

Dr Osman is actively involved in various multi-centre international clinical trials for MMN and CIDP and keeps up to date with research. She regularly delivers national and international presentations.
