Experience

Dr Davidson has worked for the Trust since April 2001.

From 1989 to 1992 he completed a pre-registration and senior house officer medical rotation in Glasgow.

Dr Davidson spent four years as a registrar in clinical immunology (August 1992 to July 1996), in the regional immunology department at Newcastle General Hospital. The post had attachments to other relevant departments including rheumatology, chest medicine, haematology, the tissue-typing department of the blood transfusion service and histopathology. This provided a broad training in clinical immunology and related clinical disciplines.

From 1996 to 2001, Dr Davidson worked as a senior registrar in rheumatology, on a northern regional rotation. This was based at the Freeman Hospital, with a one year rotation to South Cleveland Hospital (year two) and Dryburn Hospital (year five). This provided training in all aspect of clinical rheumatology, together with more specialist training in the management of connective tissue disorders.

Development of paediatric rheumatology service and Southampton lupus clinic.
