Dr Andrew Rosser

Dr Rosser is a consultant in infectious diseases and medical microbiology.

Training and education

Dr Rosser trained in medicine at the Royal Free Hospital from 1997 to 2003. He undertook training in infectious diseases and medical microbiology in Leicester and Portsmouth. He completed an MD in tuberculosis at the University of Leicester in 2018.

Experience

Dr Rosser is a consultant in infectious diseases and the department of infection who joined the Trust in 2017. 

Dr Rosser's clinical duties are divided between the management of inpatients with complex infections and outpatient tuberculosis clinics at the Royal South Hants Hospital. He also works as a clinical microbiologist with responsibility for intensive care. 

His areas of interest include:

  • tuberculosis
  • HIV infection
  • imported infections including schistosomiasis
  • global health
  • new antibiotics.
