We hold fortnightly meetings to discuss patients with complex stones and regional referrals. These meetings include interventional radiologists, adult urologists, metabolic physician, paediatric urologist and radiology and urology trainees.

    Bryant, Dr Timothy

    Dr Bryant is a consultant radiologist who specialises in abdominal and interventional radiology (image-guided medical treatment).

    Consultant in chemical pathology and metabolic medicine

  • Miss Amelia Pietropaolo

    Consultant urological surgeon

    Miss Pietropaolo is a consultant urological surgeon specialising in endourology, and joined UHS in 2017 as a fellow after completing training as a urologist in Italy.

Specialist nurses

  • Tanya Davis

    Urology nurse stone specialist

    Tanya has worked in urology since 2017, and spent much of her career in surgery before this specialising in the area of urology. She works closely with the rest of the urology stone team, supporting patients with their ongoing treatment and management of stone disease. She is also part of the lithotripsy nurse led service for the treatment of renal and ureteric stones.

  • Loretta Tear

    Urology nurse stone specialist

    With 19 years of experience in nephrology and haemodialysis, Loretta joined the stone service when it expanded in 2019. She is supported by two consultant urological surgeons, specialising in stones. Her role includes

    • ­­Running ESWL (extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy) Monday to Thursday
    • A virtual stone clinic every Monday afternoon
    • A nurse-led urgent stone clinic every other Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning
    • A nurse-led stone clinic all day every other Tuesday
    • Supporting patients with their ongoing treatment and management of renal stones.
