Neuro-oncology nurse specialists

Our neuro-oncology nursing service is based at Wessex neurological centre, and works across neurosciences and oncology.

There are many clinical teams involved in treating and managing your condition in this area, so good communication and coordination of your care is particularly vital. Our clinical nurse specialists play a key role in making sure this happens smoothly.

The neuro-oncology clinical nurse specialist sees all adult patients diagnosed with a primary CNS tumour, who are under the care of a consultant neurosurgeon or consultant clinical oncologist within the Wessex region. This includes both low and high grade primary tumours.

This service does not include skull base tumours, pituitary tumours or primary spinal tumours as these patients have their own designated clinical nurse specialists in post to support their needs.
