Meet our appointed governors

    Hampshire County Council

I’ve lived all my life in Hampshire and I am proud to have been elected to represent my community on both Hampshire County and Eastleigh Borough Councils. I care passionately that local residents have a voice in the provision of public services and that we improve our environment and opportunities for future generations. I sit on a variety of committees including the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Authority and the National Public Transport Consortium.

I have spent most of my career working in policy, community engagement, corporate governance and strategy within the public sector and previously lectured on public policy.

It is an honour to have been appointed as a governor for University Hospital Southampton. I am looking forward to working as a member of the Council of Governors to ensure non-executive directors are held to account on behalf of members and the wider public.

    Declaration of Interests:

Member of the National Public Transport Consortium

Elected Councillor for Bishopstoke and Fair Oak Division, Hampshire County Council

Elected Councillor for Bishopstoke Ward, Eastleigh Borough Council

Appointed to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Authority

    Co-ordinator at Eastleigh Community Aid

    Councillor Pam Kenny

    Southampton City Council

I moved to Southampton 5 years ago with my husband, to be nearer family following my retirement from a 35 year career as a registered Mental Health nurse. I worked for many years as a community psychiatric Nurse working with older adults in Peterborough and latterly as a Nurse assessor for Continuing Health Care in Lincolnshire, a very large and mainly rural county.

In May 2023 I was elected as ward councillor in Freemantle ward on Southampton City Council. I currently sit on the licencing committee and Health and Overview Scrutiny Panel (HOSP) and have recently been selected as Mental Health Champion for the council.

I am acutely aware of the impact that poor physical and/or mental health can have on our residents and I look forward to strengthening Southampton City Council’s partnership with UHS and working together to improve everyone’s health and well-being.

University Hospital Southampton is a significant and important partner for the University of Southampton. The University has a large body of student and staff stakeholders, and we work together with UHS on the education and development of healthcare professionals and in driving forward world-leading research and innovation.

As a Professor of Health Services Research in the School of Health Sciences and previously Associate Dean for Research, I have played a leading role in the professional education of healthcare professionals and helped shape the School’s global research portfolio.
