Response to RAAC on UHS estate

RAAC (reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete) was a material used in the construction of buildings built between the 1950s and the 1990s.

UHS was identified as having a small amount of RAAC present on our estate in non-patient facing areas following a survey in 2019.

Since then we have undertaken remedial work and our estates team continues to monitor the condition of the concrete and take any action that is deemed necessary to maintain the safety of our site.
