Connect magazine is back!

The first edition, which is available online and in print copy around the Trust, features the amazing survival of Oscar Clayton, who was diagnosed with a rare cancer at 18 months which saw a tumour wrapped around his aorta and major organs, and 13-year-old Jake Malcolm, who underwent a major scalp reconstruction using an innovative balloon technique after a dog attack left him severely injured.

There is also a look back at some of the major stories of 2019 which made national headlines, including the story of Alison Cameron, who became pain-free after 40 years following a world-first nerve stimulation implant, and a new corneal laser which pulses at one quadrillionth of a second.

Chairman Peter Hollins provides a welcome and information on how to have a say on the future of the trust by signing up as a member, while emergency department consultant Dr Iain Beardsell gives us an insight into his work behind-the-scenes on Sky One thriller Temple.
