Mr Odofin is a consultant who specialises in breast surgery.

Training and education

  • Higher surgical training - Wessex Rotation (2004 - 2010) Trained at various hospitals including St Mary’s Hospital IOW, Salisbury General Hospital, Poole General Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital Winchester and University Hospital Southampton.
  • Period of research and middle surgical training (2000 - 2004) North Middlesex Hospital, London Royal Free Hospital, London Churchill Hospital, Oxford Broadgreen and Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital.
  • Basic surgical rotation (1997 - 2000) Middlesbrough General Hospital and North Tees General Hospital
  • Undergraduate Training at College of Medicine of the University of Lagos, Nigeria

Experience

  • Mr Odofin worked as Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon (2010 – Feb 2023) at St Richards Hospital, Chichester (University Hospitals Sussex) and was Foundation Programme Lead for seven years before moving back to University Hospital Southampton.
  • Mr Odofin treats patients with breast cancer and as a surgeon performs many different operations (mastectomy, breast conserving surgery and axillary lymph node surgery) and also performs breast reconstruction with and without breast implants.
  • Mr Odofin is Fellowship Programme Director at University Hospital Southampton
  • Mr Odofin is also involved with teaching medical students at UHS.

Research

Mr Odofin is involved with clinical breast cancer research and as an investigator recruiting into various trials (ENDONET, SMALL, MARECA, POETIC – A)
