• Your consultation will normally last between 45 and 60 minutes. 
• The specialist FH nurse will explain the condition and genetic testing in detail, but please feel free to ask any questions you have or raise any concerns during your appointment. 
• We will draw a family tree, which can provide valuable information about inheritance and may identify relatives at risk of having FH. It may be helpful for us to obtain medical details on your immediate family members. This includes dates of birth, contact details and any cardiac or cholesterol related history.
• Please note we may need to take a blood sample. We will contact you before your appointment if you need to fast.
